Changing Snapshot Settings

Introduction

By default, Synapse automatically saves a Snapshot when you close a study and uses the most recent Snapshot when you open a study. With the exception of the following two scenarios, you must manually create Snapshots, if you deselect the options set in the steps below:

  • If you open a study from a Collections folder that was saved with a Snapshot.
  • If you open a study from a Worklist, using the camera icon's context menu.

Steps

  1. To access User Settings, do one of the following:

Complete these steps...

Open User Settings from the Viewer.

Right-click User Settings .

Open User Settings from the Worklist.

Click  User Settings on the Worklist toolbar.

Open User Settings from PowerJacket.

Click  User Settings on the PowerJacket toolbar.

  1. Open the Image Display page.
  2. Do any of the following in the Snapshot panel:

    If you want to do this...

    Choose this option...

    Automatically save a Snapshot if you have added any changes when you close a study.

    Note: Synapse does not save a Snapshot automatically when there is no image or layout change.

    Select Automatically save Snapshot.

    Use the most recent Snapshot when you open a study.

    Select Automatically display Snapshot.

Note:

Depending on how you configure the combination of the following settings, determines whether Synapse loads a Snapshot or the Initial State when you press F5.

Results

Synapse automatically saves any updated options and displays the following message in the bottom left corner of the window: Successfully saved.

Synapse displays the following message to alert you that an action must be taken for the settings to apply: Refresh the Synapse browser window for settings to apply.
