Setting a Reading Protocol as a Default
Introduction
When you select a default reading protocol, Synapse uses this reading protocol as the first option when you open a matching study. You can apply Make Default to one selected reading protocol at a time.

If two different reading protocols with the same match-type are selected to be a default reading protocol, the reading protocol that was most recently selected as Make Default becomes the default reading protocol. |

Steps
- To access User Settings, do one of the following:

toolbar.- Select the Reading Protocols tab to display the RP Directory.
- Select the reading protocol you want to use as your default reading protocol.
- Right-click the selected reading protocol and select Make Default.
- Optional: Repeat for additional default reading protocols.
Results
Synapse sets your selected reading protocol a default.
Synapse displays the following message to alert you that an action must be taken for the settings to apply: Refresh the Synapse browser window for settings to apply.
