Navigating Between Previously Opened Studies
Introduction
While in the Worklist, the ability to return to previously opened studies using Time Warp addresses the issue of workflow interruption and provides
a means by which you can easily return to a study after searching for
and opening another study. The Time Warp
buttons , located above the Worklists tab in the left pane, allow you to easily:
- Go back to the previous study with one click.
- Continue back through all studies that you have viewed throughout your current session.
- Move forward to view any subsequent studies you have viewed (while using the Time Warp Previous button).
- Open your My History Worklist to see a list of your recently viewed studies.
Note: |
The navigation only works for studies; the ability to navigate does not function between other entities in the folder hierarchy (such as Patients). |
Steps
The following examples describe the processes involved when using the Time Warp buttons in two scenarios:
- Viewer and the PowerJacket are open
- Viewer and the PowerJacket are closed
Example 1: The Viewer and the PowerJacket are opened, displaying the current study.
This process assumes that you were interrupted while reading a study and that you opened another study; now you want to return to the previous study.
- You are working in Study A.
- You receive a request to look at a new study, Study B, but you have not completed work on Study A.
- While in the Worklist, open the new study, Study B.
- After you finish looking at Study
B, click Time
Warp Previous
.
- Study A displays in the Viewer and PowerJacket, exactly as it was left if you
selected the Automatically save Snapshot setting.
Note:
Be sure your settings are set to save Snapshot layouts. See Changing Snapshot Settings.
- The study displays highlighted on that Worklist so you can find it easily.
- Optional:
Click Time
Warp Previous
again to open the next previous study in the Viewer and PowerJacket, and open the associated Worklist.
- Optional: Continue to click Time Warp Previousuntil you reach the end of the list of studies opened during this session.
Example 2: The Viewer is closed, displaying the Worklist and listed studies.
This process assumes that you opened several studies and then closed the last study after completing work on that study; now you want to return to the study that you closed.
- You opened Study S.
- Then opened Study T.
- Then opened Study U.
- While in Study U, you perform the necessary work (e.g., used F8 or F9 to dictate).
- After you complete the work, you close Study U (closing the Viewer, which also closes the PowerJacket).
- You are returned to the Worklist.
- From the Worklist, click Time
Warp Previous
.
- Study T – the study that displayed BEFORE the one that was closed – displays in the Viewer and PowerJacket.
- From the Worklist, click Time
Warp Next
to display Study U.
