Viewer Toolbar Features

All of the Viewer toolbar buttons work while cine is playing in multi-frame and non multi-frame viewports.

Description

Time Warp

Addresses the issue of workflow interruption and provides a means by which you can easily return to a study after searching for and opening another study. Use the toolbar buttons for a quick way back to the last study you looked at and easy navigation to every study that you have looked at during your current session.

My History

Displays a list of your recently viewed studies.

Search

Opens the All Studies Worklist in the Worklist. Use the QBE fields to find another patient.

Send Message to Dictation System

Manually notifies the dictation system. Use the manual notification option when:

  • You have not selected the Dictation Notification option on the Workflow settings page.

Note: You must have the Synapse Desktop Agent installed.

Sign Report (F8)

or

  • Marks the open dictated study and returns to worklist.
  • Marks the open dictated study and displays the next unread study in the Viewer.

Note: The initial display of these icons in the Viewer depends on the Workflow > Mark Study Dictated (F8) setting. See Configuring Workflow Settings.

The F8 button can be toggled between the two settings, temporarily altering the behavior for the current user session. See Automated Workflow Overview.

Skip Study (F9)

or

  • Skips the open study without marking dictated and returns to the worklist.
  • Skips the open study without marking dictated and displays the next unread study in the Viewer.

Note: The display of these icons in the Viewer depends on the Workflow > Skip Study (F9) setting. See Configuring Workflow Settings.

External Links Icons

Displays a list of configured URL icons that supports up to 10 URL icons. See your System Administrator for more information about configuring the URL icons.

Note: For VNA studies use the Study Instance UID. If you use the Study ID, a VNA study does not contain information for a Study ID and returns a zero.

Reports

Opens and closes the Report window in the Viewer.

Open PowerJacket

Opens PowerJacket in a separate window.

DICOM Structured Report and PDF Viewer

Opens and closes the DICOM SR/PDF Viewer.

Reading Protocols Drop-Down List

Provides a list of available reading protocols for the open study or studies.

Note: If there are more than 100 reading protocols matching the current study or layout, Synapse displays only the first 100 reading protocols in the Reading Protocols drop-down list.

Reading Protocol Step Drop-Down List

Shows the available steps for the open study or studies.

Previous and Next Step

  • Left arrow moves to the previous step.
  • Right arrow moves to the next step.
  • Additional step options available on the image context menu: Layout Navigation.
  • Keyboard shortcut (ALT + X) to return to first step.

Previous and Next Comparison Studies

  • Displays the previous comparison study or group of comparison studies.
  • Displays the next comparison study or group of comparison studies.

Page Layout

Specifies the number of viewports displayed on a monitor.

Save Snapshot

icon_save_Snapshot

  • Left-click the Snapshot icon to save a new Snapshot. Synapse automatically saves the Snapshot name using the date and time.
  • Right-click the Snapshot icon to open the Save Snapshot dialog box. You can name the Snapshot and save the Snapshot in a Collections folder.
    • Click the Snapshot name and select the Initial State option to revert the study to its original state.
  • Click the Snapshot name to view a list of the current Snapshots. You can edit a Snapshot's name or delete a Snapshot from the study. All changes to a Snapshot automatically synchronize in the Worklist and PowerJacket.

Snapshots Drop-Down List

Indicates that you are using the initial display state of an image.

Click to display a list of available Snapshots.

Synapse Chat

Synapse Chat provides the ability for Synapse users to communicate with one another within the Synapse application.

  • Click the Synapse Chat icon from your preferred location in the Worklist, PowerJacket, or Viewer.

AI Feedback

Opens/closes the AI Feedback dialog box.

  • Click the AI Feedback icon.

AI Category Filter

 

Displays AI Findings by category.

The AI Category Filter default state is All Findings with the up and down arrows grayed out.

  • To view the series AI findings, do one of the following:
    • Click the AI Category Filter icon to view the first available category and click again to view the next available category. This will cycle back to ALL when you reach the last category.
    • Use the 8 shortcut key to find the next image in the series or the next series containing AI results.
    • Use the 7 shortcut key on the keyboard to toggle through the series AI findings within an image, one at a time.
    • Use the 6 shortcut key to turn on the AI findings display. Press the 6 key twice to turn off AI findings.

Tools

Click the arrow to display the drop-down list and select one of the following options:

  • Settings
  • Mouse Move Sensitivity
  • Optimize Network Usage
  • Sync During Scroll
  • Synapse Help (Users Guide)
  • About Synapse

Close Study

Closes the current study and any prior studies that are open.

Note: The Viewer remains open and if PowerJacket is open, it remains open.
